And now for everyone’s favorite question and answer session with our friend, “don’t call me Timmy” MPA!!!
This week’s question comes from our friend Kristen from West Bridgewater. What do you have for us today, Kristen? Hey MPA!! I was once a huge fan of yours! Now not so much. I heard that you are not much of a cook and even less of a husband. With that said, I would like to know what your three (3) favorite dishes to cook are? Thank you for your time and I wish you happiness in your future endeavors and relationships. Dick…
Kristen,
Thank you for your question. I’m sorry you are no longer a fan of mine, and that sounds like a deeper conversation, but let’s focus on your question. I do love to cook, and have quite a bit of passion for it, so I’m happy answer this question, and here are my three favorite dishes to cook are, and as always in no particular order:
1. My grandmothers split pea and ham soup – there is nothing heartier, satisfying and comforting than a bowl of this soup on a cold winter’s night. You either love split pea soup or hate it a nd there does not seem to be much middle ground on this recipe, but I LOVE IT, and my grandmothers secret was adding potatoes, which thickens the soup up and makes it eat more like a stew than a soup.
2. Anything Italian (my Nonni’s influence) – On the other side of the family was my Nonni’s influence, and I spent a lot of time by her side cooking both Greek and Italian dishes. Her sauce recipe was so simple, yet so incredibly tasty, and lends itself so well to parms, pastas, meatballs, and everything else good in Italian. cuisine both authentic and “Americanized”.
3. Anything BBQ – The technology in the home smokers now has come so far it allows almost anyone to be an amateur pitmaster. There is so much you can do with a smoker, and the versatility allows for so much creativity. Smoked turkey, brisket, ribs, chicken, sides, apps desserts, so many great recipes, so little time.
Kristen, thank you again or your question and I hope in time I can find my way back onto your good graces, feel free to email me privately for a further conversation, and as always wishing you the best of luck if you have any action this weekend!!!!
PS…. Regarding MSP Trooper Matthew Coholan I don’t honestly know much about him, but I do know there are several entries about him on the POST Commission website, and that is NEVER a good thing.
